YORK-WEAVING PHILOSOPHY
ESSAY PRIZE

The York-Weaving Essay Prize is open to all students in year 12 going into year 13 or equivalent. This competition provides an opportunity to practise your  scientific argument and essay writing. 

 

The top 3 essays in each subject will each receive a free review and consultation of your personal statement with Dr Anna York-Weaving.

The deadline for entry is 18:00 BST on Sunday 28th September 2025
 

Essay Question - Should the ethical principle of equality always guide political decisions, even if it reduces overall welfare?

Essays should be no longer than 1,500 words.

Entries must be submitted using the contact form below with the subject heading -
"YWE Philosophy Essay Prize - [SCHOOL NAME]".
